Struck it Rich With Antiques Again!

Today was a very good day! Last weekend I bought some perfume bottles at the flea market. I bought 5 empty bottles that were very old. I brought them home and cleaned them up thinking they must be worth something. I did a little research on the brand names and found very little about them. Only that they were probably made back in the 1920′ to 1940’s on average.

I listed them for cheap money on ebay ($5.00 each). Four out of the five perfume bottles sold for over $100! I couldn’t believe it. I read a while ago that old perfume bottles sold really well. The thought of perfume bottles making me money stuck in my head when I bought them at the flea market. Not knowing just how well they sold.

I know it was lucky to find such a good group of antiques in one place. This doesn’t happen often, believe me. Just to give you an idea of the great find I had; one of the perfume bottles was Victorian made back in 1919. I was not aware that the bottle was so old until the woman that won the item told me. I usually make a couple hundred dollars a week reselling things I get from the flea market. But this was a great week.

It goes to show you the early bird gets the worm. I always try to show up at the flea market before it opens. Most flea markets let you roam around until all the sellers are ready. If you see something you like just strike a deal with the seller. Nobody is around and you saw it first anyway, right? I am kind of like an auction sniper, only at the flea market.

Flea markets have been very good to me through the years. If you want to make money at flea markets you have to be vigilant. Show up early and don’t buy fake stuff. Fake merchandise and rip offs are usually easy to pick out. Even if they look real, you have to use your head. If it’s brand new and 75% off compared to the real deal, it’s obviously fake. Most of the vendors that sell brand new items are looking to rip people off. I suggest you stay away from these vendors unless you are getting a great deal.

You can always talk someone down on their prices also. I like to wheel and deal with the people who are selling stuff they don’t want anymore. These are the people you find selling antique and rare items. They usually don’t know what they have.

Look in your local newspaper and find some flea markets. Take the family or some friends. Flea markets are fun! I rank flea markets a 7 on the scale of 1-10 family fun. You will find all kinds of things from the weird to the rare. Everyone can go home with something for themselves. And you don’t have to spend a lot of money to be happy at a flea market. Plus you have a chance to find some rare items to resell online!

Thanks for reading my blog everyone. Don’t forget to stop by tomorrow. I have a treat for you.

Make Money Buying and Selling at Flea Markets

flea-market.jpg
Everyone at one time or another will probably visit a flea market. Flea markets can be a fun time for the whole family. I remember going to the flea market as a kid and going home with toys I had never seen before. Growing up I found myself visiting flea markets trying to find a deal or two. As time went by, I saw the money you could make at flea markets. The same people sell at flea markets each week religiously for a good reason. It can be a gold mine. Your average flea market on the weekend can see over 10,000 visitors. If you can’t make money at a flea market there is something wrong.

Check out your local flea market. You don’t have to be special to reserve a spot to sell your goods there. You just have to make arrangements and pay for your spot/table. Then you can sell any goods you have. Some people will pay full price without trying to talk you down. Other customers will try and wheel and deal their way to a good bargain. Either way, you will make tons of money at a flea market because of the volume of customers you will get.

My niche at the flea market was jewelry and lingerie. Find your niche and go for it! You don’t even have to sell name brand merchandise. People are at a flea market to find things for a good price. You won’t make as much money if your product cost a hundred dollars or more. So as long as the price is right, you will make money. There are tons of wholesalers who offer some really great priced goods that are not name brands. Buy some no-name goods wholesale and resell them at the flea market. You can make some profit and sell an interesting product at a great price for the people at the flea market.

Flea markets are also known for having goods you can’t find anywhere except a flea market. Who cares if you aren’t offering anything you can buy in retail stores. People visit flea markets for the experience of finding something different than you can find in regular stores. You don’t need name brand products to make money at a flea market. Weird and rare things sell remarkably well at flea markets(the same rule holds true for ebay). Take my word for it, find something good to sell that you can get for a great deal. Get enough stock to last you the whole flea market length. Buy a table/spot at your local flea market. Be prepared to make some serious money. Bringing home over five thousand dollars in a weekend is not out of the ordinary when you sell at a flea market.

At a flea market you probably won’t find someone selling the same thing as you. No competition means more money! Maybe do a scan of the flea market the weekend before you plan to sell and scope things out. Find out who is selling what and where they are. Map out your plan of what to sell and where to sell it at the flea market. The key is finding a good spot to sell your goods. The good tables are worth paying the extra money if it means a location where more people will see you.

Buying from flea markets can be a great score also. When you are a seller at a flea market, you usually get there early in the day. Which means nobody is there shopping yet. The early bird gets the worm. Hit two birds with one stone. Scope the place out for the best deals of the day from the other sellers there. I have found tons of things I have made really good money from at flea markets. Buy it cheap at the flea market and resell it on ebay for tons more money.

That’s right, just beware of counterfeit and fake goods: And you can make some great money from buying at flea markets and reselling on ebay. From simple things like snow globes, nick-nacks, to collectibles, and decorations. All kinds of things are at flea markets with lots of ebay potential. Heck, if you have your own website; list the goods you buy from the flea market there so you can make money without paying ebay fees. Either way, the rewards are very much worth it when you are a regular visitor to flea markets.

I look at flea markets, yard sales, and things like that as potential gold mines. You always hear stories of people finding really good things there. I have found some really good profit makers through the years just because of flea markets and yard sales. So, look in your local paper. Check out all the flea markets. Go take a leisure visit and see what you can find. Take the family if you can’t leave the house without them. You will have fun and probably make some money. At the same time; see if there can be a future for you selling at the flea market. I bet you can, goodluck!

Thanks for reading my blog everyone. Let me know if you have any questions.

Flea Markets Can Get You In Trouble

policeman.gifHi everyone, how are you today? I was doing good until I heard about a sad story. The story was about an ebay seller that was arrested for selling counterfeit goods. This person was prosecuted with a huge fine and even spent time in jail. I know this individual and they are generally a good person. That is why it is a sad story. This could have happened to you or me. Listen to what happened.

She bought some Louis Vuitton purses at her local flea market. She asked the person selling the purses if they were real. The person told her they were real and get them while they last. So she bought all the purses that she could. Then listed the purses on ebay. All of them sold in the same night. Wow she made a lot of money in such a short amount of time.

The next weekend this individual went back to the flea market to see if the person selling the purses was there again. What do you know, the seller was there with more purses. This individual bought all she could again. She also asked the seller if they were at the flea market every weekend. She made arrangements so this was her new distributor of LV purses.

Things were going great on ebay for about 3 months. This individual made over thirty five thousand dollars profit in about three months. Until, she received an email from Louis Vuitton, telling her she violated their licensing for selling fake LV goods. She thought it was a joke and blew it off and kept selling the purses. About a week later, she got a letter in the mail to show up in court. Louis Vuitton was bringing her to court for selling fake goods.

Apparently an undercover Louis Vuitton officer bought one of the purses this individual was selling. The item turned out to be fake after the officer inspected the bag. Selling fake LV purses is a big crime. Millions of dollars are lost because of manufacturers of fake goods.

The next day this individual was suspended from ebay. Because as we all know; selling counterfeit or fake items violate ebay’s copyright infringement laws. This powerseller was not only suspended. But she was also being taken to court for which she served 3 months in jail. She also had to pay a ten thousand dollar fine. And this was pleaded down. She would have served 2 years with a two hundred thousand dollar fine, *if she didn’t tell the authorities* where she got the fake goods from.

This individual had no idea she was doing anything against ebay’s rules, much less against the law. But it doesn’t take a brain surgeon to know a deal is too good to be true.

Remember, if it seems to good to be true, it probably is. Be aware that flea markets are flooded with fake and counterfeit merchandise. Try not to buy name brands at a flea market, if you plan to resell them.

I love to shop at flea markets. Lots of times I resell the goods on ebay. So this could have happened to anyone. I just wanted to make everyone aware of the dangers of shopping at a flea market. Be careful and use your head when you buy something.

Either way, they will bring in lots of resell value on ebay. I was at a flea market not too long ago and I saw a bunch of HP calculators. The guy wanted $3.00 a piece for them. I thought of ebay right away because they were still brand new in the box, but I thought they wouldn’t sell because they were older models. I noted the model of the calculator and passed up the deal. When I got home I checked and saw that the HP calculators I saw were selling on ebay for over $100.00 each! I went back to the flea market and they were all gone. I kicked myself in the butt and called it a loss. Now I bring my laptop to the flea markets and yardsales, so I can do some research. Look to get $20.00-$300.00 for each HP calculator you sell on ebay. Depending on the model, how old it is, and what condition it’s in.

Used “Newspapers and Magazines”. Used newspapers from important social or sporting events. Even newspapers with political stories are worth lots of money on ebay. Magazines are the same way; if you have magazines with famous social, sport, or political events will bring you lots of money also. Or if the magazine is dedicated to social, sport, or politics. You can find these at flea markets and yard sales all the time really cheap! Look to get $2.00-$200.00 for each newspaper or magazine on ebay. Used Items That Sell on Ebay Part 1

used.jpg

Hi everyone, how are you? Thanks for reading my daily blog. I really appreciate all the positive feedback you give me to continue my blog. Lately I have received lots of questions about what to sell on ebay. Did you know some “used items” sell better than “brand new items” on ebay? Well if you know what is hot, you could make a fortune. Now is the time to clean out that attic, basement, or garage. Maybe you could start going to yard and garage sales. Flea markets are another great place to find valuable used items that will sell well on ebay.

Just about any used item sells on ebay. The trick about used items is; you have to know what sells the best. There are a select few of used items that are better than collector’s items. People may be restoring that classic car or house. They may be looking on ebay for some rare items that will bring some character to their classic or antique collection. Just about any used items that are not made anymore, have a collector not far behind looking for it. Collector’s are the main buyers of the unique used items I will tell you about in the next few days. That’s why you can get so much money for each item.

First on the list is used “FM CONVERTERS“. These sell for big money, depending on the model. Car collector’s everywhere look for FM Converters. Lots of antique and classic cars only had am radios. Car collectors usually want to keep everything stock. With an FM converter they can still have a stock radio. If someone is looking for an FM Converter, they will pay on average $30.00-$300.00 each. If you have a mint condition item, look to be payed more than $500.00 for your old FM converter you don’t use anymore. You can still find these everywhere. The best part is, most people that have these, don’t know what they are worth and usually don’t care. They just want to get rid of them.

Used“Metal Detectors” sell really well. Garret, Whites, and military detectors sell for the best money. You can find these for under $20.00 in most cases. Used metal detectors sell on ebay for $300.00- $1500.00 each. Depending on the model, how old it is, and what condition it’s in.

Used “Reel to Reel Tape Players”sell well also. These are usually pieces of junk unless you are a reel to reel collector. You can find them everywhere really cheap. But on ebay, a vintage reel to reel tape player that works will sell for $100.00- $1200.00. Depending on the model, how old it is, and what condition it’s in.

Used “Singer Sewing Machines”have a really good resale value. You can usually find a good singer at a $20.00 bargain. On ebay you could resell it for $50.00-$300.00. Depending on the model, how old it is, and what condition it’s in.

Used “35mm SLR Cameras”sell great! Especially if you have the owners manual. These cameras are practically thrown away now, since technology hunters don’t want used goods. The professionals and camera collectors swarm to these 35mm cameras though. They resell on ebay for $500.00-$3000.00 each. Depending on what accessories and extras it comes with. Condition doesn’t seem to be important. I even see broken 35mm cameras being resold for big money.

Used “Betty Crocker and Weight Watchers Books”. These books bring in big turn around money. You can pick these up for under $1.00 and resell them on ebay for $10.00- $100.00 each. Depending on how old it is, and what condition it’s in.

Used vintage “Sears Wishbook Catalogs”. Yes these catalogs are worth big money if you still have one. I see them at yardsales all the time for a dollar or two. They resell on ebay for $20.00 -$100.00 each. Depending on how old it is, and what condition it’s in.

Used “Cake Decorating Books”. Anything to do with cake decorating will sell really well on ebay. They resell on ebay for $20.00-$100.00. Depending on the how old it is, and what condition it’s in. Cake decorating wedding and yearbooks seem to sell the best.

Used “Owner and Dealer Service Manuals for Cars”. Most people that buy a used car don’t get an owners manual. So they are very valuable to them. Also the collectors like to pay big money for the dealers service manuals. Be on the look out for these all the time. They always sell. They resell on ebay for $20.00-$300.00 each. Depending on the model, how old it is, and what condition it’s in.

I hope this helps you all realize used items sell very well on ebay. You just have to know what to look for. In the next few days I will tell you lots of used items that resell on ebay very well. See you tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by everyone.

Yard Sales, Moving Out Sales, and Flea Markets

2006_04_garage_sale.jpgA great way to make money on ebay is to look in your local newspaper. You can find a gold mine there. You can find yard sales, garage sales, attic sales, estate sales, property sales, moving out sales, flea markets, going out of business sales, lots more. You can literally find anything you want, in the local paper. You just have to look everyday you can, because sometimes you could miss a really great deal or event. People throw away perfectly good things everyday. One persons garbage is another persons treasure. Antiques are all over the place. Some people just think it’s junk and throw it away or sell it cheap. You would be surprised at the antiques bought cheap and resold for big money on ebay.

Yard sales are my favorite. They stand out among the rest, because you always have a chance at getting a treasure for a couple of dollars. People don’t care what they are getting rid of, at one of theses sales. They probably have no room for the stuff anymore and are happy to sell it cheap, just to get rid of it. Yard sales have helped millions of ebayers rake in a consistent incomes. I have had a few treasures in my day. One in particular, I bought about 500 baseball and hockey cards for 6 dollars. There was a stack of Bobby Orr rookie cards along with stacks of other great players. Even a Gordie Howe rookie card. At the time I didn’t even know who these players were. But I found out quick that my $6 turned into thousands! That’s just one of hundreds of yard sale stories I have. Attic and garage sales are pretty much the same as a yard sale. They are just called something different. I recommend looking for any of these sales in your local paper. They are usually held during the weekend, so take the family. They can be lots of fun!

Flea markets are another good place to get some stuff to resell on ebay. You can buy some really good stuff for cheap money. People sell stuff they brought from home at flea markets. Its just like going to 100 yard sales at once. Flea markets can be great money makers for the sellers and the buyers. Most people are buying stuff at the flea market to resell anyway. Why not resell it on ebay. I have seen some flea market stuff that sold for hundreds or thousands of dollars, but only paid a couple of dollars for it. Just be careful not to sell fake or counterfeit merchandise on ebay. Ebay will suspend your account if you commit any kind of trademark or copyright infringement.

Moving out sales are another good way to make some money. Be on the lookout for these ladies and gentlemen. These are usually rare, but very profitable. People will sell anything from the kitchen sink to their cars at a moving out sale. Everything goes is the motto for a moving out sale. The owners will usually sell everything at flea market prices. I recommend moving out sales to anyone looking to make some big money, reselling stuff on ebay. There are lots of treasures to be found at a moving out sale!

Going out of business sales are great also. Some stores or businesses have run into financial difficulties and may have gone bankrupt or something. Always be on the lookout for these, they can be very profitable. Most of the stuff is brand new and still in the package it came in. The resell value of brand new merchandise is great on ebay. If a business has a going out of business sale, you can usually get 50-90% off retail. That’s fantastic. You are getting brand new merchandise for more than half off. Keep an eye out for going out of business sales!
