Making Money on The New Ebay

Hi everyone, I hope your weekend was good. It has been a little over a month since ebay lowered their auction insertion fees (but raised final value fees by a whopping 3%). There has been a huge serge of powersellers leaving ebay in the past few months. I am not one of them.

I am not complaining about ebay because I still make good money there. But, I am pointing out that it is very difficult to make money on ebay since the new fee changes. I knew I would see a huge chunk of my profit taken away. I had over one thousand dollars extra go to ebay this month, because of the new fee changes.

It is so sad to see something you have watched develop for the better through the years, just turned to rubble. The new person in charge of ebay(his name is not worth mentioning) has even commented that ebay powersellers are not important. He also commented that there will be even more rule changes and price hikes in the near future. I can’t see anyone making money there if this happens. He took over early this year and has already ruined it for new users as far as I am concerned.

It can be very difficult for anyone just starting out with sales online. I don’t recommend ebay as a place to start for beginners anymore. There are so many tips and tricks you need to know about ebay that your average Joe would not make a dime for profit. You used to be able to list whatever you have on ebay and it would sell.

Now ebay has become such a cut-throat market, that you have to be buying hundreds or thousands of units wholesale in order to make any profit. Drop shipping has become almost impossible to make any money on ebay. I only suggest using drop shipping and ebay together if you are very experienced.

I have been a seller on ebay since 1998 and times do change. Just think of all the options you have available compared to a few years ago. Lots of new auction websites have made a great name for themselves in the past year or so. Ebay will not be around forever. When a product becomes as commercialized as ebay, it can only go down from there.

Ebay has already reached its peak. In fact, I think ebay has overshot their peak by a few years. I suggest trying another marketplace that has free or low listing fees if you are just starting out. You can find some great auction marketplaces in this “top 15 auction places of 2007-2008” list I made. You can find part 2 of that list here.

Thankfully, I have only helped people make money on ebay lately. I have actually helped people become ebay experts. But, I am going to start referring people just starting out away from ebay. There are too many options out there for other great auction marketplaces to pass up. I have been making more money on other auction places lately. Ebay has just become this big money sucking monster lately. Ebay used to be the only way to go if you were starting out with sales online.

There are even some great social marketplaces popping up. Look at facebook marketplace. They have become a huge success in the short few months it has been out. It is proof people are searching for other means to make money besides ebay. More social marketplaces will be popping up all over. I even heard that myspace is thinking about having a social marketplace like facebook has introduced.

Five years ago an ebay powerseller would never chance leaving ebay to make money. There just wasn’t any place that had eBay’s traffic. That’s what it is all about. If the website gets lots of traffic, the more sales you will make. Even Amazon couldn’t compete with ebay five years ago. But now, it’s a whole other story. Ebay has actually paved the way for websites like Amazon and Overstock to take over the auction marketplace world.

When it all comes down to it; Ebay has become prettier and shinier. But looks aren’t everything. Take a look at the whole package and you will notice ebay might not be worth your time and effort. Ebay is becoming too much work for the small profit you make. I am not sure if the new generation will appreciate eBay’s new policies and fee hikes.

Times always change, so we will have to wait and see what happens. But one thing is for sure. Nothing lasts forever and something better always comes along. In today’s age of people getting laid off from life long career jobs, you will notice people flocking to the best bang for your buck. The new ebay is not the best bang for your buck anymore.

Thanks for reading my blog everyone! See you tomorrow.

Make Product Niches Easy to Locate

Hi everyone, and happy Monday to you. Thank you for entering my contest yesterday. The contest is still going on until 12pm eastern time today. So enter if you haven’t already.
Only a few people entered so far, so you have a great chance to win. I get hundreds of visitors to my blogs everyday. Don’t be shy people:) I know I just sprung the contest on you all. But, that was the whole purpose; to give back to my regular readers.

Today, I am going to tell you; why you should stay away from popular or general items to sell. The products that make you the most profit margins, are not always the best products to sell. Those types of products always seem to have more competition. And what’s worse is; the competition is usually charging a way lower price than you can afford to sell the same product.

Popular products like I-pods and cell phones are not very good money makers. Especially if you are selling on ebay. Because everyone and their mother are selling I-pods and cell phones on ebay already. That means more competition and lower prices than you can afford. Stay away from popular or general products that bring lots of profit.

Think outside the box. Think small profit, lots of sales. I would rather sell 100 items a day and make 1 dollar profit on each item; than sell one item and only 20 dollars profit a day. Think small items that people need. Think about the things you use on an everyday basis. Think about products you like, use, or need. Do you really need an I-pod or do you want to sell them because they are popular?

You have to be smart and think 3 steps ahead if you are going to get into sales online. Make things as easy as possible for you at all times. Don’t struggle by doing research on niches that might work. Use your head, stop for a few minutes and think of products you need on an everyday basis. Necessities usually sell better than luxuries online.

Necessity may be different for different people though. For example, a headset and microphone may not be a necessity to most people. But, to a tele-communications expert, it would be a necessity. Think about what products would sell and would have little to no competition. I always say sell accessories for popular items. To this day, that little strategy works great.

Even little things like cool drinking cups sell great. You can make some good money if you sell a lot of them. Today, I want you to sit back and think about all the things you use on a daily basis. I bet if you did some research on those items, you would find the sellers, sell a lot of them. They might not make a lot of money per sale. But, like I said earlier: if they sell one hundred items a day with one dollar profit on each, that’s a one hundred dollar day. When I first started selling online; a hundred dollar day was a great day.

Think about it. The most popular and obvious Niche is not always the best niche. Too many complications arise when you have 3000 other sellers trying to out-do your starting price. You need to find a new ways to get away from that kind of competition. Think about the things you buy most, besides food and clothing. I bet you could open a floodgate of new possibilities if you really think about it. Everyday items sell remarkably great compared to a new television or surround theatre system.

I probably sell everyday items 1000 to 1 compared to big luxury items. People buy what they need. Once you realize that, you can make sales happen with a more positive outcome. Stop selling items just because they have a big profit margin. Start selling items that you know will sell. Give these little insights a try. They have worked great for me through the years.

Thanks for reading everyone. Let me know if you have any questions. See you tomorrow.

Is That Item in Stock?

untitled1.bmp
Hi everyone, I hope you’re doing good. I recently had someone ask me if they should have more than one drop ship/wholesale distributor for the products they sell. My answer is definitely yes. You should always have a back-up plan for no matter what you do. This includes, having more than one distributor for the products you sell.If something can go wrong, it probably will. Always try to plan ahead. Chances are, you will never need to use your back-up plan. But it’s a good idea to have one in place to use in case something ever goes wrong.

The most common thing that can go wrong in drop shipping is: You sell the item and your drop shipper has run out of stock. If you have another distributor that sells the same products you are saved. A good drop ship company will let you know when items are out of stock or discontinued. Most drop shippers want to know what their retailers are selling, so they can inform them of such changes.

Back in the day when there where only a few good drop shippers out there, the out of stock problem would happen a lot. As time went by things changed for the better as technology became our friend more and more. Back orders seemed to take half as much time. You could really tell that the drop shippers were making an effort for your customers. Having a good drop shipper is key to being informed about product updates.

Discontinued items can really hurt you also. Some products are only released for a few short weeks or months. Then the manufacturer notices glitches or product defects and the item is recalled or discontinued. So many times an item sells and makes really good money for you; then the manufacturer discontinues the product for whatever reasons.

Again, if you have a good drop shipper, they should keep you informed of any products that are discontinued. Having a back-up distributor can save you when a product is discontinued. The other distributors might have a few products left in stock. It might even be a good idea to buy all the remaining products in stock if it is a good seller. Since the products are no longer for sale through the manufacturer, it may be in high demand.

It is also your responsibility to always research and know what products are out of stock or discontinued. It’s nice to have your distributor keeping you informed of product changes. But don’t rely on them. At the end of the day, you are the one that has to relay bad news to your customers.

Thanks for reading my blog everyone. See you all tomorrow.

Don’t Jump Right Into Drop Shipping

box.bmp
Hi everyone, I hope your doing good. Someone asked me last night if I thought it was a good idea for them to jump right into drop shipping with no prior experience. They implied that they were thinking about listing 30-50 items a night on ebay from their drop shippers catalog. This is a very bad idea. Rule number one: never go all out with anything you are not familiar with yet. Always start off slow. This person also said they are new to ebay. This is another no-no. If you don’t know the ins and outs on ebay, you will never make it by combining drop shipping and ebay. You are building a recipe for disaster. I would recommend doing 10-20 transactions on ebay before you go all out. Some people don’t fully get familiar with the way ebay works until their first 50 transactions or so. You could lose a lot of money in auction fees by inexperienced option choices in your auctions.

Get into drop shipping slowly. The competition is hard enough as it is. Rookies will find no success in drop shipping on ebay. Drop shipping on ebay is very competitive nowadays. You have to find a niche. Even when you find a niche, it could only last a few weeks or months. Make all the money you can from each niche until it’s not in demand anymore. Niches fade as time and fads change. You have to be very experienced in researching what is selling and what is not selling. Ebay is the best place to find out what items are hot. Even if you don’t sell on ebay. You can find lots of ways to find what items are hot on this blog post I made. http://thehomedropshipguide.com/blog/ebay-hot-items/

There is way more than just constant research to know when you start drop shipping. If you have made your mind up about drop shipping, take it in small to moderate steps. The only way to get experience with something is to do it. Hands-on is the best experience. People seem to learn things better when they actually do it. You can learn from your mistakes with hands on experience. You will also be able to understand directions when you have an idea of what is going on. Understanding and learning new skills always take practice. But when you are spending money to make money, you need to make as few mistakes a possible.

After you do your research and find a product with your drop shipper give it a try. But try to sell only one or maybe two items(one to two auctions) at a time. Follow through with the transactions and learn how things go with your drop shipper. Learn the process of drop shipping when someone wins an ebay auction. Once you learn the process of drop shipping you can start to expand to sell more items. But only if you feel comfortable that you know what you are doing and know the process.

When you sell one or two items at a time until you are used to things; you can benefit in many ways. You can test out each drop shipper to see how their service and products are compared to other drop shippers. You will learn the routine of being a retailer through a drop shipper. Experience will make you look more professional because you won’t make as many mistakes as a rookie drop shipper. I recommend signing up with a few drop shippers. Shop around for drop shippers. Every drop shippers prices will be different from another one. Some will have lower prices and other drop shippers prices will be very high. Don’t be afraid to shop around for drop shippers like you would shop around for a car.

Your customers want to deal with a professional, not some kid. They want a smooth transaction and a product that is, what you say it is. Remember, you can’t be professional about something you don’t know about. Do as much research as you can before you jump into drop shipping with both feet. Especially if you are new to ebay. Yes, ebay makes it very easy to make money. But you won’t make money with no experience.

If you already know ebay, I would still throw caution to drop shipping until you get to know the world of drop shipping. Some wholesale/drop shippers don’t care about your ebay customers or your ebay business. They just care about sales. But there are lots of wholesale/drop ship companies that care a lot about you and your customers. You just have to search until you find some that you like. Find a few drop shippers that understand and know that your customers mean more money for their business. They are usually not some fly-by-night companies. Fly-by-night drop shippers are the ones to watch out for. They are just out to make money.

When you are ready for drop shipping you will know it. Search for a few drop shippers to use. Don’t settle for just one drop shipper. What happens if one of your drop shippers is out of stock and you sell something? You need a back-up plan. The best back-up plan you can have with drop shipping; is having a few drop shippers for contacts. Using a few drop shippers that sell the same items can really help you. It will make price shopping a little easier for you also.

Make sure if you try drop shipping, you take it in baby steps. Drop shipping is not cut out for everyone. If you have any questions, feel free to email me.

Thanks for reading my blog everyone!

What’s The Catch?

mistwball.jpg
Hi everyone, I hope you’re all doing great! I always get asked what the catch is, with this blog. They ask me questions like, “Is this a scam?” or “What company do you work for?” There is no scam and I don’t work for anyone except myself. I have been doing this blog for about six months now for the sole reason of helping people. It has become a friendly addiction to help people and I have been able to reach lots of people with this blog. When it comes to home business, not many know more than me, as I have been doing it for about 10 years now.

There is too much bogus information about home business on the internet from people that just copy and paste BS on their blog or website. They have no experience and just believe anything somebody says on a web page. So i figured, in my free time I can blog and help people.

But mainly, my goal with this blog is to steer people away from scams and bogus content. And at the same time I want to answer questions and help people. I hate get rich quick scams around the internet. Lots of people fall prey to them everyday and I am really sick of it. The thing I really hate about scams online are the ebooks that come along and say you can be rich overnight. That will never happen.

I have written a couple of ebooks to help people, just because of all the scams with ebooks out there. My ebooks do well, as they are special. I do not just sell an ebook to you. I back it up with my experience by helping along the way. That’s something nobody else is doing. Most people have never even used the information they sell as ebooks. It is usually just information they found online somewhere. I do charge money for my ebooks, as my customers get VIP service and work I can’t do for free. I do go the extra mile for people that buy my ebooks. When someone purchases an ebook they get 3(more if needed) months of tutoring from me. I offer unconditional help with things like researching and finding wholesalers you want, to showing you step by step anything you can’t figure out. I won’t advertise my ebooks on this post, as they do well already.

Who knows, maybe I can start a trend and experienced people will start writing ebooks and sell them along with experienced tutoring. Offer a money back guarantee and all the scam artists will be forced to do something else for a living. If you can’t help someone with questions about your ebook or how to do the subject in your ebook, you shouldn’t be allowed to sell it.

I do have a couple on blogs. Two blogs are for fun. I do use one blog to make money. I have advertisements and took some advice from the great John Chow among others. I don’t make much with the blog but that’s fine. It’s a learning experience and I am not in it for the money anyway. I want to help people learn how to make money at home. Even part time, anything extra helps. I know how it is to be scratching your head at home saying “how can I make money at home or online?” I was that person ten years ago.

I have been using ebay for about ten years. I met this great guy in 1998 who was always telling me how much money he made on ebay. He was nice enough to show me the ropes and get started on ebay. Maybe I got wanting to help people from him. Ebay was how I started making money from home online. I have expanded to many other marketplaces as auction marketplaces are my specialty. As you know, I do not list my auction marketplace ID’s anymore for sabatage reasons. Sad to say but, almost as soon as I started showing my auction id’s on my blogs(especially ebay) I noticed frantic fraud bidding and an avalanche of scam artists. So I don’t advertise my auctions or stores on my blogs anymore. They get enough exposure already on those marketplaces anyway. As you can tell, from the tips and information I give people on my blog; it’s not like I need the help when it comes to making money online.

For the past six months I have been teaching myself affiliate marketing. My goal is to get away from selling and live off of affiliate marketing instead (Don’t worry, I will always have my home business blogs. I think teaching people correct ways to bring in a little extra money at home is very important). I am finding out there is less work and stress involved with affiliate marketing. All you do is list a company link on one of your websites and when customers click that link you get paid in different ways; depending what that person does on that companies website. There are all kinds of tricks and tips to learn to be an affiliate marketing master. But that’s just like anything else. Practice makes perfect.

I would like to thank my friends around the net who have been kind enough to give me advice on how to market and advertise my websites. I get lots of great advice on young entreprenuer, a forum I visit to get and give home business advice. You see, I am using this kind of A&M knowledge to build experience of making and bringing traffic to my dream business website someday. Marketing and advertising is the most important part of having a website. If nobody knows you have a website, how can they visit it? Over the past six months I have become an advertising and marketing genius.

I think overall I will probaby stick with ebay through thick and thin until something else comes along better. Right now ebay has all marketplaces cornered. Ebay is pretty much the monopoly of auction marketplaces right now. There is too much money to be lost by taking ebay out of the equasion. History always repeats though. Someday something will come along bigger and better than ebay.

But I will always be here for my readers, I love to help people. I have developed quite a following with this blog and I thank you. Now I have found a new love for blogging. Helping people go hand and hand on my blogs. Anyone with questions about making money at home will not be ignored on my blog. In my years of helping people only one person has not been successful. And to tell you the truth, I don’t think they tried.

I do my best to post on my blogs everyday for you, although sometimes it’s just not possible. When I do post, it is usually answering someones question or giving information they asked about. I find answering my readers questions is most useful to everyone. I have been answering questions along with any tips or tricks I can give in a blog post. So, if you have any questions about making money at home, feel free to ask me. It doesn’t cost anything to ask me questions, don’t be shy:) I really am just someone who cares and wants to help you. Times are tough enough without trying to avoid scams too. I would hate to see anyone make a costly mistake they could have avoided. I have helped people from all around the world make money at home.

Thanks for reading my blog everyone. Have a great day!

It’s Illegal to Sell Counterfeit or Fake Goods

fakeoakley.jpgHi everyone, I hope you’re doing good. Someone recently asked if they could get in trouble for selling counterfeit or fake goods. This is a tricky question, because there are a few answers. And it depends where you live also. Most countries have strict rules against making or selling counterfeit goods. Other countries could care less. The funny thing is; most countries make counterfeit goods illegal to sell, but it’s okay to have it in your possession in small quantity. I don’t think I will ever understand federal laws, I just obey them.

General rule of thumb, if your country has federal laws, chances are it is VERY ILLEGAL to make or sell counterfeit/fake goods of any kind. If you’re country does not have a federal laws, chances are your country could care less if you make or sell counterfeit or fake goods.

But there are ways around it also. If it is a look-a-like without the company logo or name is is not considered a fake or counterfeit. You can sell this legally as long as you don’t promote it as the brand name in question. But, if the item has either the company brand logo or name on it anywhere it is considered a fake/counterfeit and it is VERY ILLEGAL to buy or sell. “If it has the brand name or logo on it, it doesn’t even have to resemble the product to be illegal to sell”.

Counterfeiting a brand name is a major federal crime. Trademark and copyright infringment are a huge problem in the USA right now and can come with jail time and/or big fines. There are over one hundred thousand counterfeiting rings that were busted last year.

Some people say you are okay if you don’t advertise the brand name. This is only okay if your product doesn’t have a company name or logo on it anywhere. Look-a-likes with out a company name or logo are tolerated if they are not advertised as the brand name product.

Look-a-like items are items that look like a brand name item without any company name or logo on it. You may have noticed some people who sell look-a-like items and they advertise it as “Compare to Oakley” or “Just like Oakley”. Even though it looks the same, it’s not illegal to sell because it doesn’t have a logo or brand name on it and they are not promoting it as a brand name product. Federal laws have really weird rules. I don’t see the difference, but apparently they do.

I always hear stories of people getting in trouble for buying fake goods from China. This is very popular. Don’t fall for cheap prices in China. Most wholesalers from China make counterfeit and fake merchandise. They make a living off of it. The problem is, it’s against the law to most of the world. But China is not a democracy, they do not have any federal laws or regulations. Therefore, they don’t need to follow rules set by other countries that have to follow the federal laws. That’s why China can sell counterfeit or fake goods and not get in trouble.

Most people that have been getting in trouble, have been getting caught on receipt of the goods. China or another counterfeiter will ship the goods to it’s customer. When the customer receives the goods, a team of officials arrest the customer. Most of the people caught for selling counterfeit goods have been doing it a long time. There has probably been a sting operation going on for quite sometime if you are caught selling counterfeit goods.

Big name brand companies that have been the victim of counterfeiting have created sting teams to constantly do research and catch counterfeiters. When you sell the goods, the sting team will purchase it. Then they inspect the item to find out if it is a fake. If the team can confirm the item is fake and you are selling fake goods under their brand name, you will be investigated. The investigation will go on until they can catch all the people involved so they can catch the entire counterfeiting ring.

Just because you have seen people selling counterfeit or fake goods and they didn’t get in trouble, doesn’t mean it’s okay for you to sell it. Don’t worry, someday those counterfeiters will be caught. Big countries like China thrive on counterfeit goods. The truth is, people don’t mind buying-to-own counterfeit goods. Even if they know it’s fake, most people don’t mind. Some of it is made better than the real stuff. So they get a better product for a fraction of the price. But it doesn’t make it right. It is still against the law for most of us. And for those that are selling counterfeit goods and shouldn’t be; they will be caught someday.

If you are selling counterfeit or fake goods for a long time, you will probably be investigated soon if you aren’t being investigated right now. My advice to you is to stop right away and don’t contact the counterfeiters again. The sting teams can’t bust countries like China because of the laws. But instead, they bust the recipients of the goods coming from China and other known counterfeiting locations. If you are buying counterfeit goods from someone, you are considered being part of a counterfeiting ring.

It’s not a very good idea to sell counterfeit goods. I know, it doesn’t seem like you are hurting anyone by selling counterfeit goods. I don’t see the big deal either. But big brand name companies have really put some weight on law enforcement to stop counterfeiting. Law enforcement takes counterfeiting as serious as robbing a bank. You get a big fat federal charge to sit on your record for the rest of your life.

Play it safe people. If you think the deal is to good to be true, or if the price is way to cheap something is wrong. Counterfeit and fake items are very easy to spot as they sell for a fraction of the price the real thing would sell for. Don’t make the same mistake thousands of people just like you have already made. Don’t sell fake or counterfeit goods thinking you are not breaking the law. Because you are!

I hope this helps the person that asked me about selling counterfeit or fake goods. If anyone has any questions, I would be happy to help you.

Start Small If You Are New to Ebay

_1763006_ebay300.jpgHi everyone, I hope you had a good weekend. I recently had someone tell me they were brand new to ebay. They wanted to know if they could make three thousand dollars a month right away. Three thousand dollars a month is a lot of money to start making right away. I told them maybe in 3 to 6 months time when they get the hang of things. I gave them the tip of starting slow and making three thousand dollars a month will just happen as you stick with it.

The more you do something the easier it becomes. You can’t expect yourself to list one hundred auctions a week right off the bat, if you don’t understand ebay yet. You could lose hundreds or thousands of dollars in auction fees. You have to do extensive research to know what sells. Then you have to find some good products to market. You’re better off learning the ropes slowly on ebay these days.

I always say; start off by selling an item each night. Something around your house that you don’t need anymore. Believe it or not; ebay is a great place to sell used items. Especially if you can’t acquire that item in a store anymore. Instead of throwing away something you thought was junk, ebay would be a great place to get rid of it. You will learn a lot as you make each transaction on ebay. As easy as ebay sounds to use, there is a lot to learn.

Take a look in your attic, basement, or garage. I am sure you have something to sell on ebay. At the same time, you will be learning at your own pace. That’s what it is all about when you first start on ebay. Don’t worry about what other people are doing on ebay. Do things at your own rhythm until you get the hang of it. And most importantly; stick with it or you will forget what you learned.

Buy a few things on ebay. Get to know the other side and how things work in opposite shoes. Then you can see how other sellers do things and pick up some pointers from them. I know sellers on ebay that have never bought an item there yet. All they do is sell. You guessed it, those are the ones that still don’t have a clue. Ebay is a great place to buy something and catch a great bargain. Just check out the sellers feedback and make sure they have a good reputation.

If you’re new to ebay, don’t worry about buying anything wholesale right now. Don’t worry about having items drop shipped yet either. As I said, just make some transactions on ebay with items around the house you don’t want anymore. Buy some items. Make at least 10-20 transactions on ebay before you try going all out. You need to learn by hands on experience, before you jump in with both feet. Ebay isn’t the same place it used to be. You have to know all kinds of tips and tricks to avoid high auction fees now.

What if you spend four weeks on ebay and you end up owing over five hundred dollars in action fees with no profit? It happens to new ebayers that take things too fast all the time. If I had a dollar for every time I heard someone tell me they owe more than they made on ebay this month. It’s sad that people think they can jump right in and start making money.

Ebay used to be that easy. Back when I started selling on ebay in 1998, it was very easy to make a living there. There wasn’t much competition as a seller. You could list a bunch of items and they would all sell with little, to no competition. It was you and maybe another seller or two that were selling the same item in that category. Three other sellers was a lot of competition back then, lol. Now there are millions of ebay users that sell the same item. So ebay is not all it’s cracked up to be anymore.

Ebay has television commercials and the reputation to back it up. But with higher ebay fees and lower prices by scammers, ebay could be going downhill. Ebay has been an auction marketplace monopoly for about ten years now. Users have always looked for other auction marketplaces to move to- Amazon- Yahoo Auctions(doesn’t exist anymore). But there is no other place like ebay that will bring you traffic and sales without marketing something.

You can make a lot of money on ebay. And ebay is very easy to use. But it takes years to master and make a living on ebay. Ebay has changed a number of rules, countless times as the years have gone by. I remember when you could list any item for under a dollar. I don’t think you could even spend two dollars to list an auction in 1998. Ebay has become too commercial to make a living on, unless you know the ropes.

There are other places on the internet that are trying to become auction marketplaces like ebay. We, the users have to make that change if we want ebay to change their ways. Ebay knows they can raise fees and get away with it. They know they can get away with things some place like Amazon couldn’t get away with. Is traffic and instant marketing that important to us? And let this auction marketplace giant called ebay walk all over us.

I love ebay, don’t get me wrong. But in the past two years I have seen ebay make some really bad decisions. Usually the type of decisions being made like this lead to the company not being around very long. Someday, as silly as it sounds; ebay won’t be the same auction marketplace giant it has become. Someone bigger and better always comes along. You’ll see, history always repeats itself.

Thanks for reading my blog everyone. See you tomorrow.

You Can Have Business Accounts With Bad Credit

untitled.bmp
Hi everyone, I hope your weekend is going well. I recently had someone ask me, if they could open any business accounts with a wholesaler if they had bad credit. They also wanted to know if they would run into problems if they open a bank account with bad credit. Two very good questions that I will answer for you today. You need a credit card to have most merchant accounts. If you have bad credit, chances are you have been turned down for a credit card. A credit card from your checking account can be your savior.
First off, bad credit doesn’t mean you can’t start your own business. You will have more challenges than the average person, but you can still do it. Don’t let bad credit prevent you from reaching your goals. There are ways around everything. In the long run, you should try and fix your credit, as you will need it as you get older. You need good credit to buy cars and houses among just a few things we buy as adults.

Okay, the first question asked about bad credit with wholesalers. All you need is a credit card with wholesalers. You can even use your debit card, as long as it is a Mastercard or Visa. Most wholesalers will have you fill out a few forms that are required to activate your account with them. One of those forms is a collateral or credit form. Since you are a home business, wholesalers do not require you to fill out anything about collateral or credit. This form is for bigger companies. Companies that want to get products up front and pay later from the wholesaler need to fill this type of form out. Since you are a home business, you only need to list a credit/debit card to pay for your goods. Just list your credit card information and skip the collateral section. You do not have to worry if you have bad credit. You can still set up an account with wholesale distributors.

When you put a credit card on file with the wholesale distributor, they will keep that card and use it when you make a purchase. Every time you call them with an order, they will automatically bill the credit card on file with them. You don’t even have to continuously give them your credit card number every time you order something. The credit card you leave on file with the wholesaler can be a personal or business credit/debit card. Just make sure you always have money on the card as you make purchases. If your credit card on file ever declines with the wholesaler, they may cancel your account with them.

As for the bank question: They asked if they would run into problems if they try and open a bank account with bad credit. There are a couple of reasons you might run into problems if you try and open a bank account with bad credit.

If you owe any bank money, you will not be able to open a bank account with any bank. All banks have a system in place where: if you owe any bank, any money at all, it will show all banks that you owe money to another bank. Here is an example; if you owe money to Bank of America, you can’t go to Enterprise bank and open an account. If you went to Enterprise and tried to open a bank account, their computer system will tell them you owe money to another bank. And they won’t let you open an account until you pay that bank back.

It doesn’t matter if the banks are connected through business or not. Even though the banks are not connected with each through business, the banks computers are all linked for fraud protection. So they will see all debts you owe to other banks. Then the bank will look at you like a bad investment. So clear up your debt with the bank you owe money to, or you will run in to problems.

The bank doesn’t care what other debts you owe. As long as you don’t owe another bank money, they will overlook all your other debts or bad credit. Banks are very lenient to open an account with them. I would say that’s a pretty good deal, to overlook all my debts and bad credit(other than money owed to another bank) to open an account with any bank. They want your money in their bank.

Okay, remember how I said you only need a credit/debit card to start an account with a wholesaler? How do you keep a credit card on file if you can’t get one? Obviously if you have bad credit, you probably don’t own a credit/debit card. This is what you can do…Go to any bank that gives Visa or Mastercard as a debit card. Open a checking account and ask for the debit card with your account also.

Now that debit card can be used as a credit card with any wholesale distributor. Make sure the credit/debit card from the bank is a Visa or Mastercard. Now any purchases you make with that credit card will be pulled out of your checking account. This credit/debit card you get for your checking account is interest free, so it’s better than a regular credit card. And you can only spend the money you have in your checking account, so you are less likely to overspend.

This is the tricky part: What if you owe the bank money? If you owe any bank any money at all, you won’t be able to start an account with that bank or any other bank. That means you can’t open a checking account and get your Visa or Mastercard. The only way around this is to pay the bank you owe money to. If it is a lot of money start saving now. The only way to get you out of this mess is to be responsible and pay that bank back. You will always need a bank account in your life, so it’s well worth it. Having a bank account will make life so much easier on yourself.

I wouldn’t recommend a secure credit card. Secure credit cards are probably the worst out there. They charge you interest on your own money. So don’t even think about a secure credit card. You will just make things worse for yourself. Go pay back that bank you owe money to. If you don’t owe money to any bank; go open that checking account and acquire your credit/debit card. Remember, make sure the bank offers a credit/debit card that is a Visa or Mastercard, so you can use it anywhere like a credit card.

Some Products Are Not Available at Wholesale

sony.jpg
I always hear the same questions. Where can I buy clothing, shoes, or video games/consoles wholesale? Items like clothing, shoes, & video games/consoles are under strict licensing agreements between the manufacturer and the distributor. Most agreements say; the wholesale distributor/dealer buys from the manufacturer and is only allowed to sell at MSRP price. Licensing agreements prevent the wholesale distributor from selling wholesale to anyone except certain retail store chains. In some cases the wholesale distributor/dealer is the retail store(what retail store do you know that sells wholesale?). That means they are an authorized dealer of that certain name brand manufacturer. A dealer is not allowed to sell below MSRP either.

If the manufacturer tells their wholesale distributor not to sell to home business, they better not. You need a physical store front in order to buy from certain manufacturers or wholesale distributors. If you want to be a distributor of these big name brands, be ready to be turned down. You have to be an authorized distributor/dealer to buy wholesale for certain name brands. Some manufacturers put applying distributors through a vigorous and long process to get approved. Some manufacturers like Sony or Nike will only sell to certain retail stores. Your average mom and pop retail store in the city, would have a hard time acquiring such a contract. Otherwise you would see a Nintendo Wii being sold at every corner store.

If the wholesale distributor broke their agreement with the manufacturer they would be sure to be in court, as well as lose their big money account with a huge manufacturer. If the manufacturer was a huge contract like Sony or Nike, you can be sure that wholesale distributor wouldn’t be able stay in business for very long. That would be too big of a loss. Most companies wouldn’t be able to afford staying in business if they lost a contract like that.

The fact is; Don’t take it to offense, but companies like Sony and Nike don’t want to take the chance of a home business ruining their reputation with certain products. The risks are much higher dealing with small businesses compared to companies that are well established businesses. Not only that, but if these manufacturers decided to let the wholesale distributors ever sell to home businesses, this is what would happen:

The home businesses with little overhead would be able to charge lower prices than retail stores. Retail stores have huge contracts with companies like Sony and Nike. But retail stores have to pay overhead bills, insurance, and pay many employees among just a few things. The retail store would have to sell at MSRP to make profit. Even though the manufacturer wants everyone to sell at MSRP, doesn’t mean everyone will listen. Then lower prices than MSRP will pop out all over uncontrolled. Retail stores would take a huge loss. In the long run it would hurt the manufacturer.

But if the manufacturer sets a strict licensing agreement up with just the wholesale distributors, they can control who gets the product at wholesale prices. They could even track down the wholesale distributor breaking the rules, if they decided to break them. If small home businesses got to buy product at wholesale prices, the manufacturers wouldn’t be able to track down the bad ones selling at under MSRP. That’s what it is all about, a control game.

This also cuts down on counterfeiting rings. It will be easier to spot the people selling fake goods at lower prices if they know all their wholesale distributors. If Sony or Nike find someone selling way below MSRP, they will do an investigation. If that business is found not to be an authorized distributor, they would go after that company. Counterfeiting has become a huge problem around the world.

There are all kinds of other reasons big name manufacturers tell their wholesale distributors not to sell to anyone at wholesale prices. Most if it is just to cover their asses over licensing agreements.

I am not saying Sony won’t let any of their distributors sell wholesale. But certain products they make like Playstation, are under strict licensing agreements. Don’t expect to buy them at wholesale prices if you have a home business. You may be able to find shoes or clothing to buy wholesale as well.

But don’t expect to buy big name brand clothing or video games at wholesale prices. It’s impossible to buy these at wholesale prices if you are a home business. Anyone claiming to sell these items at wholesale, is either lying or selling counterfeit merchandise. Or they may be a crazy company that doesn’t care about their strict licensing agreement between the manufacturer and the distributor. If that is the case, they will soon be caught.

Times may change, but right now when a new shoe or product come out that is in high demand; there is usually not enough man power to create the product fast enough. Then the manufacturers try and control everything as much as they can to squeeze the most profit out of it.

When the product slows down in demand you will notice the products licensing agreements may change and it will be available to everyone at wholesale prices. But new products that are the big money makers for manufacturers will rarely be available to buy at wholesale unless you are an authorized distributor or dealer. And that day may never come with certain products.

There are lots of other products that are covered by strict licensing agreements like this. Everything from licensed professional sport clothing to DVD’s are under strict licensing agreements. Most of the time you will find the ones protected by strict licensing agreements are the ones that are most counterfeited.

Anyone claiming to have wholesale prices available for such goods are probably selling at discounted prices, not wholesale. There could be lots of reasons, but if they are an authorized dealer they will get in trouble. It could also be a scam.

If anyone has any questions about what items or products are under licensing agreements, just ask me. I can help.

More Wholesalers Are Starting to Drop Ship

warehouse.jpg
More and more manufacturers and wholesale distributors are starting to realize the benefits of drop shipping for their customers. Drop shipping can make some serious extra dough for any company. They probably pay someone eight to ten dollars an hour to separate the product from the case/carton and ship it to the correct address. In turn, the company will make a few hundred to a few thousand dollars an hour by paying someone ten dollars an hour or less to do their drop shipping. There was a time when it was hard to find a wholesaler or manufacturer to drop ship their goods. Most wholesalers only sold in bulk. But now it is much different. Drop shipping is high in demand and there is a lot of money to be made for everyone. If you were lucky back in the day, you had a good wholesaler that would drop ship bulk orders. But to drop ship single items was unheard of. For about 7 years, there were only a select few wholesalers that were drop shipping for customers.

Some wholesalers and manufacturers drop ship, but they don’t advertise it. Just ask your current wholesaler if they drop ship. Most companies will drop ship if you have been a loyal customer. In the past, it didn’t matter if you were making a million dollars a month; no major name brand company would drop ship single items.

If you don’t have a current wholesale distributor, find one and ask if they drop ship for home business also. Drop shipping has become so big in the past year or so, that most wholesale distributors will be drop shipping by the end of this year. If they don’t drop ship, they will lose business to the competition. Ebay and other online marketplaces have users drop shipping.

Most online marketplaces have strict rules about not drop shipping. You are not supposed to list an item for sale if it is not in your possession. But today’s drop ship companies have become very good at what they do. They actually care about your customers. So they will do whatever they can to get your items out to your customers as soon as possible. They will also put your company name and address on the return label. Your customers will never know the item was drop shipped.

If you have trouble looking for a wholesaler that will work with your home business do some research. Sometimes it is tough to find a wholesaler if you don’t know what to look for. Here is a post I made about how to find real wholesale/drop shippers. You can read it here. That should help you find a drop shipper.

It can be very time consuming to find the right wholesalers to work with. Sometimes it will take you days or weeks to find the right wholesaler. If you wanted to save some research time, you could get a source company to find real wholesalers that will drop ship for you. Source companies have teams of people that constantly do research to find the wholesalers that will work with small business. World Wide Brands are a great wholesaler/drop ship source. I recommend World Wide Brands to any home business looking for real wholesale/drop shippers. They are the only drop ship/wholesaler information source that is recommended by ebay.

Wholesaler source companies can be expensive. Most sourcing companies will charge one hundred to three hundred dollars per lifetime membership. But the benefits of having a source company finding wholesalers for you will save you lots of time to dedicate in to other parts of your business.

Wholesaler source companies have been popping up everywhere in the past couple of years. It is a sign that more and more big wholesale distributors are starting to drop ship. This post should help most of you find the right wholesaler/drop shipper for you. If you have any questions, feel free to email me.

Thanks for reading my blog everyone. See you tomorrow.

Elegant Moments Lingerie is a Great Way to Make Money

em.jpgPeople always ask me for a good clothing wholesale distributor. Today I will tell you about a clothing manufacturer I have been using for years. Elegant Moments Lingerie is one of the best lingerie manufacturers around. I have been using Elegant Moments for a few years now. They offer top quality lingerie for a low price. I even own some of their products, I like them so much. They are a lingerie manufacturer that works with home business. So you don’t need to find a wholesale distributor if you want to sell Elegant Moments. You cut out the middleman when you buy Elegant Moments lingerie. Elegant Moments will even drop ship your orders.

It’s very rare to find a manufacturer that will work with a home business. When you buy straight from the manufacturer, you cut out the wholesale distributor. When you cut out the wholesale distributor, you cut out a middlemen so you save money. Usually the product goes from the manufacturer to the distributor to you(the retailer). So the product usually goes through 2 people hands before it even gets to you. Not when you buy directly from the manufacturer.

Sex sells and so does lingerie and other adult items. Lingerie and adult toys sell like wildfire on ebay. Elegant Moments has everything from sexy lingerie to spice things up, to adult toys and games that couples can play. Elegant Moments is not made like other cheap and sleazy lingerie. Their products are made for quality as well as comfort. Elegant Moments is very sexy without being sleazy, unlike a lot of other lingerie manufacturers.

There are no minimum order requirements when you buy from Elegant Moments. Other lingerie wholesale distributors will try and make you buy a certain amount before they process your order. Elegant Moments will even drop ship single orders for your business.

They have a cute little Valentine Collection for couples. They have a Lingerie Collection to spice up your love life. They also have very sexy hosiery that will be sure to turn your mans head. Their famous hearts collection is made for quality and comfort. They offer leather and vinyl for your dark side. Elegant Moments also has a huge inventory of sexy costumes for Halloween or role playing. Not to mention the wide range of adult toys and games they offer.

Selling lingerie and adult toys are not for everyone. But it’s a really good money maker. Couples always buy things to spice up their relationships. Society will always find a need for marital aids as well. Ebay will let you resell anything that Elegant Moments has to offer. Elegant Moments is so well known and in demand that people shop for elegant moments by name. Lots of lingerie lovers are looking for an Elegant Moments distributor.

The prices for Elegant Moments lingerie are a lot lower than any other lingerie manufacturer. For the high quality of merchandise you get, you can’t beat the price. I know a lot of you are thinking, lingerie, what do I want to sell that for? Women’s Lingerie and adult toys sell great, that’s why.

So get going. Sign up to be an Elegant Moments distributor. You can find them at elegantmomentslingerie.com. Just fill out the application to become a distributor.

Thanks for reading my blog everyone. See you tomorrow.

Drop Shipping on Ebay

ebay-sm.gifHi everyone, I wish you a great week to come. Drop shipping on ebay can be very tough now-a-days. It can also be very rewarding if you do it right. There was a time when drop shipping and ebay were much more profitable. Now everyone and their mother is trying to drop ship on ebay. It’s not an easy task anymore, considering everyone else is drop shipping the same items you are. What’s worse is; you have people like me, who buy in bulk to resell. I get my goods much cheaper because I buy in bulk and offer much lower prices on ebay than you can offer.

First you have to find some products to sell. You can get some instruction on how to find some real wholesale/drop shippers on a post I made here. Finding the best products for you is the most important part. Don’t worry about what someone else is making money on. Try and find some products that sell well, without a lot of competition. Find some categories that have little or no competition.

In order to drop ship on ebay you have be creative. So, if there is competition(and I am sure there will be); you have to offer things your competition isn’t offering. You have to do things differently than your competition isn’t doing. I have said this tons of times, I know, but it’s important. How else are you going to beat your competitions prices unless you get creative to give the customer more?

I have a great tip to offer you with drop shipping. Bundle/Combo deals.

Here are some numbers.

Let’s say someone is buying bulk in wholesale. They buy 100 units for $50.00 each. The units retail for $95.00. They make $45.00 dollars profit on each unit.

You can get 1 unit for $70.00 if you have it drop shipped. You obviously can’t beat the competition getting it at $50.00 each unit and you would lose customers. Plus, you will only make $25.00.

But, if you get 3 accessories that go with the unit. Each accessory costs you $20.00 each and usually sell for $45.00 in stores. You will make $75. 00 profit on just the accessories if you sell them for what they usually sell for.

Now you add the accessories into a package deal with the main unit. Now you have a package deal worth $230.00(the unit $95.00/ accessories $135.00). Now you stand to make $100.00 profit and you are offering something your competition isn’t, a combo deal.

So, if your competition is selling their unit for $85.00 , it won’t matter. They are not offering any accessories. Customers want everything in one place.

You stand to make $100.00 combined profit between the unit and accessories. While the competition is only making $45.00 profit. So you could actually lower your price $50.00 more and make your offer even more attractive to buyers. You will still make $50.00 profit.

The customer will get everything in a combo deal cheaper than they could get anywhere else. Because you made up your own custom unit and accessories bundle that nobody else was offering. This is why it is good to know what you are selling.

Know what you sell. Know what accessories go with each main unit. Know what kind of batteries it takes. Know every little detail about what you sell. Keep on top of everything new that comes out for it. Everyday new technology comes out that goes hand and hand with a main unit we already own.

Think about how many accessories you can use with an Ipod or cell phone. There are thousands of different combo deals you could make. Combo deals that no other seller is offering. That will make your auctions more attractive to someone who wants everything at once.

FYI; It is forbidden on ebay to put items up for auction that are not in your possession.Ebay frowns upon drop shipping and they do not allow it. Unless you use an ebay recommended company like worldwide brands. World wide brands is the only source company that ebay recommends for drop shipping. Thousands of people drop ship on ebay and have done so for years. It’s something I never really got. They don’t allow it, but they let us do it.

Just be careful and be smart about the drop shippers you choose to work with. There are some terrible drop shippers who don’t care about your ebay reputation. Drop shipping on ebay can get pretty risky if you don’t know what you are doing. I have seen some great ebayers reputations ruined from bad drop ship companies.

Ebay and drop shipping can be a great experience. Just be careful who you choose to do business with. Be careful about the products you sell. Get creative and make some profit. Try offering something your competition doesn’t offer. Make up some bundle and combo deals so you offer something original that everyone wants.

I hope this helps you all out with drop shipping. Email me if you have any questions. See you all tomorrow.

Buying Wholesale From China.

handcuff.jpgHi everyone, it’s finally Friday. This week went by so slow for me. As you all know, I like to help people. That’s why I try and answer your questions on this blog. Today someone asked me if it was a good idea to buy from another country, particularly China. You have to remember; if you buy goods from a country like China, they don’t have to follow any laws or rules that your own country enforces. Why risk such a huge amount of money to a company you’ll probably never even see or visit?

I have even seen companies from China offer drop shipping around the world to try and attract victims. Drop shipping will never work from outside your own country. It could be days, weeks, or months, by the time the package makes it past customs. Your customer won’t be too happy unless they live in China.

I am not saying you shouldn’t buy wholesale from another country. But it isn’t a very smart thing to do. Too many people are ripped off everyday from international wholesalers who don’t have to follow the same rules or regulations to keep things fair. You are rolling the dice if you choose to deal with an international wholesale distributor.

China is also known to sell counterfeit and look-a-like items. Some countries have strict rules about selling counterfeit merchandise. Just because you bought it from a company, doesn’t mean the trade was legal. People go to jail all the time for selling counterfeit goods. Countries like China don’t have laws against making counterfeit goods. So they can sell them without getting in to trouble.

International wholesalers have also been known to tell you what you are buying. You pay for the goods. Then they send you different goods that are worth much less. This switch-a-roo has been pulled thousands of times by international wholesalers. International wholesalers like this prey on people from other countries. They know they won’t be caught.

Do things inside your own country. At least you will be covered if anything goes wrong and it won’t be a total loss if something happens. You will keep your economy going. And you will know all your trading is legal.

I’m not saying you can’t make money if you choose to buy wholesale internationally. Some people make really good money. The risk factor is too high for me these days. There was a time when there were honest companies worldwide. These days too many scumbag companies are trying to steal innocent peoples hard earned money.

I bought from a company in China about 4 years ago. It went well for 2 years. I even knew the managers by name and they knew me well. One of my shipments never arrived. I figured they had it in customs. I called the company in China. They told me they shipped it gave me a tracking number. The tracking number was real and said it was in transit. The package never came out of transit. It somehow got lost. The company from China wouldn’t give me my money back. The international insurance was turned down. I lost over seventy eight hundred dollars.

It was enough for me to never do business internationally again. To this day, I won’t even do business internationally. I am not saying everyone internationally is bad or they will rip you off. Most people in this world are very nice people. But the small percentage really ruins it for the rest of us. It’s sad to say, but now-a-days, you have to always look over your shoulder. Technology makes it way to easy for crooks to scam people.

I am just saying, be safe, be covered, do business inside your own country. The low risk factor of doing business inside your own country is rewarding. Doing business inside your own country can make you lots of money without worry of being scammed.

Or you can make really big money and risk losing a huge chunk of change now and then. If that sounds good to you, then give international wholesalers a chance. Most of them do offer way lower prices that you won’t find in your country.

I hope I showed you the pros and cons of dealing with international wholesale companies. If you have any questions, feel free to email me. See you all tomorrow!

Don’t Pay Membership Fees to Buy Wholesale

money.jpg
Hi everyone, I hope your week is going well. I recently was asked a question. How much money is a fair amount to pay for membership fees if they bought wholesale, without being ripped off? Don’t pay any membership fees to buy wholesale or you are being ripped off.

There is no reason to pay any membership fees if you are buying from a real wholesale distributor. Real wholesale distributors don’t need to charge any membership fees because they are already well established businesses. They don’t need to be greedy and charge membership fees with the amount of money they already make.

So called wholesale distributors like Doba and Simplx are a complete rip off. They charge high monthly fees so you can buy from a middleman. They are not a real wholesale distributor. Many companies like this, pose as real wholesale distributors. But they are nothing but a middleman stealing your profit from you. At the same time they tell you their prices are wholesale when they are not. They offer overpriced goods you can’t make any money on. There is too much competition out there. Don’t buy from a middleman.

Real wholesale distributors buy directly from the manufacturer. Who then sell to the retailer(you). If you buy from a middleman; the middleman gets their goods from the wholesale distributor and sells it to you. Instead of going through two companies hands before it gets to you; it goes through three companies before it makes it to you. That means the price was marked up 3 times before it got in your hands. Cut out that middleman and go right to the wholesale distributor.

Some manufacturers will work with home businesses. This is even better. Then the goods go from the manufacturer to the retailer(you). Working directly with a manufacturer is a rare occasion. But sometimes, depending on what product you want to sell, you will be lucky enough to work directly with a manufacturer.

Most wholesale distributors drop ship also. So if you are thinking about a drop ship program. Don’t pay any membership fees if you are drop shipping. Again, companies like doba and simplx are telling you they will drop ship for you at wholesale prices. These companies never ask for a business license or tax id numbers. This is another sign that they are not a real wholesale distributor. Real wholesale distributors can’t sell to the public. That’s why you need a business license/tax id numbers to work with a real wholesale distributor.

For the most part. If you are paying any membership fees with your wholesale distributor, you are dealing with a middleman. So if your paying any membership fees, dump the program and look for a real wholesaler.

It’s very easy to acquire a business license and tax id numbers. The money you save buying wholesale and not a middleman is more than enough reason to get your legal documents.

If anyone needs help let me know. Thanks for reading my blog. See you tomorrow.

Finding Products That Sell Well

myproducts.jpgHi everyone, I hope you had a great weekend. Today I will give you some tips to find good products to sell. Products that have a good resale value can really help you start a business. Lots of new home business owners who are in sales, just sell anything that is popular. You have to really pay attention to what will sell best with the most profit per sale. The hardest part to bringing in sales is knowing what is hot and what is not. Not all the hot products will be the best sellers. There is lots of competition for the hot products. But that doesn’t mean you can’t sell the hot items.

Offer a package deal with the hot items. Throw some accessories in it and make it a 3 or 4 piece package deal. If you create a useful package/combo deal, more people will buy from you. They won’t have to bid on several auctions or buy from a few different websites to get what they want. And because you are selling more than one item in the combo deal, you can lower your price and still make a profit. This will keep your combo deals original. Chances are, your competition isn’t doing that.

If you are selling products or resources it’s important to know what is best for you to sell. You have to hit an audience that will bring you constant sales. But in order to do that, you have to research to find out what everyone is buying right now. Times change, sometimes an item that was very popular a few years ago, won’t sell at all anymore. Whether you sell on ebay or not, the best place to find out what sells is ebay. Ebay has millions of buyers and is a great place to test any product or service.

If you are selling your own product, you could sell it on ebay first. That would give you an idea of how it would sell. Or just go to ebay’s advance search. Click on the completed items box and type in the product or service you are looking for. Then you will see all the latest completed auctions. The green prices are all the items that sold and the red prices are the auctions that didn’t sell. Then gather an average price that the product or service should sell for in order to make a profit. If you can make some good profit, then try selling that item. Even if you don’t sell it on ebay, at least you know it will sell well. Ebay’s advanced search is a great research tool to see what is selling.

It’s impossible to find a product or service that will be good for everyone. Especially if you are going to sell multiple products. Since most ebay sellers sell multiple products or services, it’s good to know about what you sell. Knowledge is great leverage in creating a sale for yourself. This way if someone asks you a question about the item, you can answer the question in an accurate way. Maybe that buyer asked your competition the same question; you both answered, but you knew what you were talking about and your competition didn’t know a thing about the item. Guess what? You get the sale and your competition is left in the dust. There are many advantages to knowing about what you sell. You will be able to describe it in your auction or website unlike any amateur would be able to subscribe it. Know something about what you sell.

Again, you don’t have to be an ebay seller to appreciate the resources ebay provides for free. You can use their hot items research to sell anywhere, not just ebay. Ebay basically tells you what items are hot every month. Chances are, if it’s selling really well on ebay, it will sell really well on your website or store also. So even if you don’t sell anything on ebay, take full advantages of the resources they offer.

Seller central is a great place to start. Ebay’s seller central offers you free resources, from selling tips to what items are hot. They offer advanced selling techniques and category tips to ebay users. But the best thing about seller central is the “what’s hot” category. What’s hot offers you free information about products that are selling. The famous ebay hot list found in what’s hot in seller central, gives anyone; a chance to find out what is in fad and what is selling best. With this awesome list there is no need to research to find out what is popular or what is selling best. Ebay updates this list about once every month or so. Check it out, you will be happy you did. Even if your not an ebay seller.

There are some really good tools online to find out what products are best to sell. Those are a couple of ideas you could try. When you find some products that you are comfortable with selling, you will know it. I like to sell small items that pack a lot of profit per sale. But that’s just me. You may have a warehouse you can store large items in. You may only want to drop ship for now. Everyone is different. Do some research to sell what is best for you, not someone else.

Remember, just because someone else is doing well with something you may not do as well. Experience always pays off. It’s really a trial and error process for anyone starting out. But listen to some people who have already done something you want to try. Learn from their mistakes and you will be sure to succeed. One of the best ways to learn, is to take some advice from someone who has already succeeded.

Thanks for reading my blog everyone. See you tomorrow.
